As Sous Chef you will be responsible for coordinating a close-knit kitchen team and creating a great experience for the guests of Papa's Loft House & Element by Westin (Amsterdam). This includes the great challenge of introducing the new restaurant in Amsterdam with us.

Job requirements

A DAY IN THE LIFE...

  • As Sous Chef you are responsible for coordinating a close-knit kitchen team and creating a great experience for the guests of Papa's Loft House & Element by Westin (Amsterdam);
  • You will be accountable to the Head Chef of Papa's Loft House and Element Hotel and work with the Head Chef to ensure that the operation maximizes the product and guest experience;
  • You will participate operationally and be the hub of the team;
  • You will organise work, delegate tasks and control according to brand standards;
  • You ensure the efficient management of food budgets and storage percentages;
  • Share your ideas! You contribute to the development of our menus.


WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for an enthusiastic sous chef who likes to roll up his sleeves. We can confidently entrust you with the ins and outs of the kitchen. And is the head chef absent? Then you like to take charge.


MUST HAVES

  • Completed kitchen education;
  • Several years of experience as an independent working cook/sous chef;
  • Experience with a charcoal grill/BBQ is an advantage;
  • Preferably you are a teacher or willing to follow this training;
  • Flexibility and "can do" mentality.
